The Irish Cancer Society National Daffodil Day is Friday, March 11th this year. If you can spare an hour to sell daffodils on the streets that day please ring Marian Maggs at 086 280 6197 or call to her Shop, Bits & Bobs, Main Street Carrickmacross to select the hour that suits you. Carrickmacross Cancer Society is also asking the general public to support our street sellers again this year by buying a flower or a pin please.The money collected on Daffodil Day is spent on a variety of actions such as:
1. Night Nursing for terminally ill people who require specialist professional care in their own homes.
2. A Freephone Cancer Nurseline, at 1800 200 700, staffed by specialist oncology nurses who can offer support, advice and information to people affected by cancer.
3. Innovative Cancer Research Projects to help find a cure for a variety of cancers.
4. Cancer Prevention Programmes such as “We Can Quit” to help people quit smoking.
